Terms of use
By using the Lagta app — as a merchant who installs it on their Salla store, or as a shopper who bids in an auction inside one of those stores — you agree to these terms. Read them together with the privacy policy.
1. Definitions
- The app: the Lagta app available on the Salla App Store, and the website lagtaauctions.com.
- The merchant: the owner of a Salla store who has installed the app.
- The bidder: a customer registered in the merchant's store who places a bid through the app's interface.
- Salla: the Salla e-commerce platform, an independent party from us.
2. What the app provides
The app lets the merchant put a product from their store up for a timed auction inside their own storefront, with proxy bidding (the bidder enters a maximum and the system bids on their behalf by the smallest increment needed), an optional reserve computed from the profit margin, automatic extension when a bid lands in the final moments, and an optional “buy now” price. When the auction ends the app creates an order in Salla for the winner at the auction price and sends them to Salla's payment page. Payment, shipping, invoicing and refunds all happen in Salla under the store's policies; the app never collects any money from a bidder.
3. Subscription, trial and refunds
The app is subscribed to and paid for through the Salla App Store, under the plan and trial period published there. Published prices exclude value-added tax (15%). The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled from the Salla dashboard before the renewal date. Refunds follow the general policy of the Salla App Store: the amount is refunded automatically when the app is deleted during the trial period, and for the first installation only. When the subscription ends, no new auctions can be created; running auctions complete their cycle through to settlement, to protect the bidders. Uninstalling the app revokes its access tokens at once, and the merchant bears the consequences of uninstalling during a running auction.
4. The merchant's obligations
- An auction is a binding sale. By putting a product up for auction the merchant commits to selling it to the winner at the price the auction closed at, provided the reserve, if any, was met. The sale may not be refused after closing because the price was not to the merchant's liking.
- Accurate data. The reserve is computed from the cost price recorded in Salla; the merchant is responsible for its accuracy. If none is recorded, the app tells the merchant that the reserve is unprotected, and listing without a reserve is their decision.
- Products with options. In the current version the product's first option is sold (for example the first size or colour). The merchant must auction a specific product without options, or make this clear to bidders in the product description.
- Delivery. The merchant chooses the delivery method in the app's settings and is bound by its terms as with any ordinary order in their store.
- Lawful use. The app may not be used to sell anything prohibited by the laws of the Kingdom or by Salla's policies, nor for sham bidding to drive prices up.
5. The bidder's obligations
- A bid is a commitment to buy. Placing a bid means committing to buy the product at the closing price if the bidder wins. The maximum they enter is the most they may pay; they may pay less, depending on the competition.
- The payment deadline. The winner has a deadline set by the merchant (24 hours by default) to complete payment through Salla. If it passes without payment, their order is cancelled, the product is offered to the next bidder, and it is not offered again in the same auction to anyone who failed to pay.
- Identity. A bidder's identity is verified through their Salla account. Bidding from someone else's account, or with several accounts to manipulate the price, is prohibited, and both the merchant and we may cancel such bids.
- Conflict with the store's policies. Unless these terms say otherwise, the winner's order is subject to the store's published policies on shipping, exchange and returns, as any other order is.
6. Auction rules
- The reserve is not disclosed to bidders; only whether it has been met is.
- When two maximums are equal, the earlier bid takes precedence.
- A bidder raising their own maximum does not raise the price shown to them, except to reach the reserve.
- A bid in the final minutes extends the auction automatically according to the merchant's settings, up to a maximum number of extensions.
- The system may refuse a bid many multiples above the opening price as a likely typing error.
- Our auction record is the reference in any dispute over the order and timing of bids.
7. Limitation of liability
We do our best to keep the service available and accurate, but we do not guarantee it will be free of interruption. We are not a party to the sale contract between the merchant and the bidder, and we bear no responsibility for the product's quality or delivery or for any dispute between them; such matters are resolved under the store's policies and the consumer protection laws of the Kingdom. Our liability towards the merchant shall in no case exceed what they paid for their subscription in the three months preceding the incident.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its software and interfaces, and the Lagta name and logo are ours; a subscription grants only the right to use the app in the merchant's store for the duration of the subscription. The store's data, products and images remain the merchant's, and we use them only to operate the service.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend the account of a store that breaches these terms or misuses the service, with notice where possible. The merchant may uninstall the app at any time from the Salla dashboard.
10. Changes
We may amend these terms; material changes are notified to the merchants who have the app installed, and the date above is updated. Continued use of the app after a change is acceptance of it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
